Starting Salaries Jump 3.4% For New Grads

Many new college graduates are still struggling to find a job, especially in their area of interest. But for those fortunate enough to have landed work related to their majors, there is some good news. Average starting salaries have risen 3.4% over the last year, according to a new report by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), a non-profit group that links college career placement offices with employers.
Salaries for the class of 2012 who found employment in their fields of study averaged $44,455, up from $42,987 in 2011. That’s the largest year-over-year increase since the class of 2008, according to NACE.
